Product DescriptionOne of the test for determination of colour fastness of dyed of printed leather is the crocking test. This test is used for the determination of colour fastness against rubbing, either under dry or wet condition. In this test a moving brass finger of specified shape and size rubs against the test specimens under a fixed load. The amount of colour lost by the test specimen and the amount of colour transferred to a piece of abradant Leather fixed over the base of the moving finger are graded with the help of standard grey scales to evaluate the colour fastness of the sample under test rubbing.
A Crockmeter is used for the determination of Color Fastness of textiles against rubbing under either DRY or WET condition.
EQUIPMENT
V TECH is an advanced version of Crockmeter, which is operated by a geared motor. It consists of the Main Unit having an Oscillating Arm with a Finger. Which Rubs over the Test Specimen under a specified Load over the Test Specimen.
The rubbing finger is cylindrical in shape and has a flat base, which is covered with a piece of standard white crocking cloth which picks up the color lost by the test specimen. The crocking cloth is held over the finger with the help of a Stainless Steel Spring Clip. Motion to the finger is given by the Oscillating arm, which runs on Teflon rollers to minimize friction and to give uniform load on the
finger. The Oscillating arm is moved with the help of a Geared motor with instant braking system. A three-digit Pre -set Counter is provided to enable the desired number of rubs upto maximum of 999 rubs. The display comes o n the Digital Counter. The test specimen is held firmly over an abrasive paper with the help of Specimen Holders made of Acrylic. The equipment is build on a fine wooden base to give the stability and rigidity. The equipment is finished in fine metallic P.U. paints.

It is used to measure the highest temperature that occurs during the last 24 hours, e.g. mercury in glass thermometer. Maximum thermometer should be kept within the Stevenson screen, made up of a specially designed wooden box. It should be kept in a horizontal position, with the bulb tilted slightly downward. These are Mercury filled, range -35 degree C to +55 degree C in 1 degree C divisions indicating high and low temperatures reached between settings as well as present temperature.Mercury in a glass bulb is attached with a graduated capillary tube so that when mercury expands with increase in temperature, its value can be noted. The capillary tube has a small constriction between the bulb and the stem.
When temperature increases, mercury rises to its maximum and, therefore, the pressure due to the increasing volume of mercury is sufficient to force the mercury through the constriction. But when temperature decreases, the constriction does not allow mercury to fall back.
